Kontron D3723-R: Brilliant graphics in Mini-ITX format with AMD Ryzen™ Embedded R2000 Series

Kontron, Ismaning, 21.06.2022 - Kontron, a globally leading provider of IoT/Embedded Computer Technologies (ECT), will showcase the industrial motherboard D3723-R mITX at embedded world 2022, which is based on the AMD Ryzen™ Embedded R2000 series and developed and to be manufactured in Germany. Compared to AMD's V/R1000 APUs (Accelerated Processing Units), it delivers higher performance. In addition to its lower price, the new model also features Windows 11 support and a long lifecycle of seven years. Like all Kontron motherboards with designation D3xxx or K3xxx, the D3723-R is also produced in Germany.

Thanks to AMD Radeon™ Vega Graphics, the solution is particularly suitable for embedded graphics applications such as professional casino gaming systems, medical displays, thin clients, industrial PCs, as well as kiosk, infotainment, or digital signage systems. Compared to the predecessor based on the R1000 and V1000 series, the R2000 offers similar features to the V1000 SKUs. These include 16 PCIe lanes, up to four display connections, and scalability of the available APU SKUs (R2312, R2314, R2514, and R2544) with a TDP (Thermal Design Power) of 12 to 54 W. Windows 11 support and an attractive price-to-performance ratio clearly favor the R2000.

The integrated AMD Radeon™ Vega GPU (options include Vega 3, 6, or 8) provides exceptionally bright graphics and supports up to four independent 4K displays. Memory comprises two SO-DIMM modules, high-speed DDR4-2666 or 3200, with a maximum of 32 GB, dual channel, and ECC support. Additionally, the motherboard offers extensive interfaces, including dual GbE, COM (RS232, RS422, RS485), USB 3.1 Gen2, M.2 (Key-M, Key-B), and more. A wide-range DC input (8V - 36V) enables versatile use in various applications. Complementing the motherboard, the SMARTCASE™ S711 case kit is also available.
