Kontron motherboard series now with support for Intel® Core™ processors of the 14th generation

Kontron, Ismaning, 29.02.2024 - Kontron, a global leader in IoT/Embedded Computer Technology (ECT), announces the release of BIOS Update R2.12.0 for all Motherboards of the K38xx Series. With this update, Kontron extends support for Intel® Core™ processors from the 12th and 13th generations to the 14th generation for the ATX-, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards developed and manufactured in Germany.

The R2.12.0 update covers all existing platforms in the ATX-, Micro-ATX-, and Mini-ITX form factors from Kontron, including the powerful K3851-R ATX motherboard and the ultra-slim, retail-oriented motherboard K3831-H Thin mITX. The update not only enhances performance but also ensures longer availability of the platforms.

Optimized performance for demanding applicationsIntel® Core™ processors of the 14th generation feature up to 24 cores (8 Performance Cores and 16 Efficient Cores), based on Intel’s Performance-Hybrid architecture. The Intel® Core™ i7 processors have been updated to include up to 20 cores. These adjustments provide optimized performance in challenging application scenarios. The CPU series also offers discrete support for the new Wi-Fi 7 standard.

Support for Intel® Core™ 14th Gen processors will be available for all Micro-ATX motherboards, including K3842-Q µATX and K3841-Q µATX, starting mid-March 2024. The boards in the ATX and Mini-ITX form factors (K3851-R ATX, K3833-Q mITX, K3832-Q mITX, and K3831-H Thin mITX) will follow in several steps. Kontron will showcase the updated boards at embedded world 2024 in Nuremberg, Hall 3, Stand 3-159.
