Kontron presents the high-end 3U VPX board VX30101

Toulon, France, May 28, 2026 – Kontron, a global leader in IoT/Embedded Computer Technology (ECT), today announces the new Kontron VX30101. This 3U-VPX high-end computing board of the next generation has been designed for AI-enabled mission computing, sensor fusion, embedded server applications, and tactical edge scenarios. 

The robust, SWaP-C-optimized VX30101 provides heterogeneous high-performance computing, integrated AI acceleration, and high-performance networking capability. It is one of the first 3U-VPX boards to integrate the new Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 platform.

The combination of hybrid CPU architecture, NPU, and Intel Xe Graphics, along with 100 Gb Ethernet fabrics, PCI Express connectivity, and low-latency memory enables system developers to consolidate workloads that were previously distributed over multiple boards. The SOSA®-compliant single-slot 3U-VPX design also provides a simple migration path for existing VPX compute blades.

The VX30101 is available in air-cooled and conduction-cooled variants and is designed for extended operating temperatures of -40 °C to +85 °C. In addition to high Ethernet throughput for processing large amounts of sensor and mission data, optional TSN network acceleration will be available for applications requiring deterministic Ethernet transport.

The Kontron VX30101 is designed for long-term deployment programs and is planned to be available for a minimum of ten years. A dedicated long-term service package is available beyond end-of-life, and an extension of the warranty for up to five years can also be offered.
