Kontron presents new AMD-based industrial motherboard D3724-R in mini-STX format.

Kontron, Ismaning, 27.10.2022 - The new industrial motherboard D3724-R mSTX is based on AMD Ryzen™ Embedded R2000 series processors with integrated AMD Radeon™ Vega graphics, offering significantly higher performance than the previous R1000 series. It is equipped with up to three DisplayPorts, one HDMI port, an Embedded DisplayPort V1.4, and a Dual-Channel LVDS (24bit), supporting up to four independent 4K displays. Additional features include USB 2.0, USB 3.2 (Gen1/Gen2), and SATA III, while the M.2 SSD interface (Key-M: 2230/2242/2280) allows connection of SSD storage devices. For a high level of security in Trusted Computing, AMD’s integrated TPM V2.0 is included. Besides the well-known Windows 10 IoT, newer Windows 11 can also be used as the operating system.

Depending on the processing power requirements, three motherboard versions are available. The R3 variant is equipped with the AMD processor R2514 (Quad-Core, 2.1/3.7 GHz), GPU @ 1.2 GHz, and supports up to four displays (eDP, LVDS, HDMI, 3x DisplayPort). The R2 version is based on the AMD Embedded R2314 processor (Quad-Core, 2.1/3.5 GHz), GPU @ 1.2 GHz, has six Compute Units, and also supports up to four displays. The R1 edition uses an AMD R2312 processor (Dual-Core, 2.7/3.5 GHz), GPU @ 1.2 GHz with three Compute Units, and supports up to three displays.

The ultra-compact motherboard D3724-R mSTX with dimensions 140 x 148 mm offers a space-saving and more cost-effective alternative to Kontron’s sibling model D3723-R mITX. It can be used as standard at temperatures from -10 °C to +60 °C. A suitable housing kit, SMARTCASE™ S511, is available for universal use.
