New SMARTCASE™ Kit Solution S730: The compact powerhouse for versatile applications

Kontron, Ismaning, 13.11.2023 - Kontron, a leading global provider of IoT/Embedded Computer Technology (ECT), announces the new SMARTCASE™ S730 kit solution designed with a compact and elegant form factor. The enclosure kit is the successor to the well-known SMARTCASE™ S711 and has been specifically designed for the Mini-ITX Motherboards D3713-V/R and D3723-R, based on AMD Ryzen™ Embedded V/R1000 and R2000 processors. The new Mini-ITX Motherboard K3931-N, which supports the latest Intel® Core™ i3 processors and Intel® N-Series Processors (codename Alder Lake N), can also be utilized. Thanks to its multiple DisplayPort interfaces and integrated AMD Vega graphics or Intel® UHD Gen12 graphics, the S730 is ideal for graphics-intensive applications in Digital Signage, Casino Gaming, KIOSK, POS/POI, and Medical. With a minimum availability of 7 years and an extended input DC range from -10°C to +70°C, it is also well suited for industrial applications.

The SMARTCASE™ S730 features a dual front USB 3.2 Gen1 connection, extensive USB/GbE, and COM interfaces on the back. Additionally, this compact mini-ITX chassis includes an expansion slot that can be used for either low-profile PCIe expansion cards or an internal 65W power supply unit. When using the K3931-N, an extra USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C expansion is available. A further highlight of the SMARTCASE™ S730 is its versatile usability in both horizontal and vertical orientations, enabling flexible integration into various environments.

An extensive accessory set is available for the S730, optionally including active and passive cooling solutions, cables, an internal 65W PSU, expansion cards, and adapters. This allows Kontron customers to assemble a box PC tailored to their specific requirements and sell it as a custom system solution. The enclosure also offers ample space on the front for customer logos. As with all SMARTCASE™ chassis kits, the enclosure, motherboard, and cooling solution are perfectly coordinated, climate-tested, and CE-certified at the system level.
