New Kontron Single-Board Computer 3.5”-SBC-EKL with Intel® Atom® x6000E Series, Celeron® N6000 and Pentium® J6000

Kontron, Ismaning, 15.06.2022 - Kontron, a leading global provider of IoT/Embedded Computer Technology (ECT), introduces the 3.5”-SBC-EKL, a new 3.5-inch Single-Board Computer for developing compact IoT-Edge devices with low power consumption and high computing and graphics performance. The new SBC is suitable for safety-critical real-time computing around remote applications in industrial automation, Smart City, retail, or healthcare. Compared to the previous generation, the processors deliver nearly double the graphics performance with up to 32 GPUs. This improved GPU capability particularly accelerates AI and image processing tasks.

The 3.5“-SBC-EKL is equipped with two DDR4-SO-DIMM memory slots, two 2.5-GbE LAN interfaces, four USB 3.2 Gen2 interfaces, and a SATA 3.0 port to enable high data transfer rates between storage and peripherals. Additionally, the board features two DisplayPort connectors on the rear and supports 4K-UHD resolution at 60 frames per second. Some models support Intel® Time Coordinated Computing (TCC) technology and Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), providing highly reliable Ethernet communication with low latency.

An accessory is the Adapter Card 3.5“-eIO-GPA, which is compatible with both the EKL board and the 3.5“-SBC-TGL. This expansion board provides additional rear I/O connections, including two more DisplayPort interfaces and two 2.5-GbE LAN ports in the rear I/O area.
