Industrial-grade 112-layer 3D TLC SSDs from Innodisk

Innodisk, Eindhoven, July 23, 2021 - Innodisk expands its range of industrial flash and storage solutions with industrial-grade 112-Layer 3D TLC SSDs with a storage capacity of up to 8 TB. The complete product line includes the SATA series 3TG6-P and 3TE7 as well as the PCIe series Gen3x4 and Gen4x4.


The new TLC SSD series is an evolution of the 3D NAND design, offering faster performance and higher capacity. Compared to the previous 96-Layer technology, which supports a maximum of 2 TB of storage, the new 112-Layer PCIe Gen 4x4 series increases capacity to 8 TB for U.2 SSDs and 4 TB for M.2 (P80). The 112-Layer series also features higher speeds than the 96-Layer series. The PCIe Gen 4x4 series achieves speeds of up to 7500/6700 MB/s (8CH) and 3800/3000 MB/s (4CH).


Reliability has been further improved in the 112-Layer 3D TLC SSD series. Therefore, a dual approach with ECC correction via LDPC within a page and RAID between blocks provides double protection for data security. Consistent and stable linear performance is achieved through a direct write mode that reduces performance drops and WAF. Additionally, Innodisk's 112-Layer series features enhanced endurance and higher data security with integrated iDataGuard and iPowerGuard, improving compatibility and protection in environments with critical power supply, and ensuring data integrity during sudden power outages.


The 3D TLC SSDs are suitable for AIoT and 5G applications, Edge Computing, Deep Learning, Smart Surveillance, and Smart Medical. Innodisk expects mass production of the 112-Layer 3D TLC series to be shipped to customers worldwide in Q3 2021.
