Kontron enhances "Secure Supply" with server motherboards manufactured in Germany and OpenBMC management

A central feature of the new server motherboards is Kontron OpenBMC, an open-source-based management platform for remote management of servers. It enables administrators to perform comprehensive remote control and monitoring: from power management, resets, and hardware resets to detailed sensor monitoring, for example for temperatures, fan speeds, or voltages. The interface also allows direct access via an integrated KVM function (Keyboard-Video-Mouse), making server administration convenient even without physical access. Standardized management protocols like Redfish and IPMI ensure interoperability in data centers, while encrypted communications, dedicated management ports, and enhanced authentication mechanisms provide a high level of cybersecurity.

K3881-C: High Performance for Demanding Server Environments

The K3881-C is Kontron's first industrial server motherboard developed and manufactured in Germany. It supports Intel® Xeon® E-2400 and Xeon® 6300 processors and is based on the Intel® C266 chipset. Thanks to DDR5 memory with ECC support, 10-Gigabit Ethernet, three PCIe slots, and four M.2 interfaces, the board offers a broad performance range and high expandability. In combination with support for Kontron 5G wireless solutions, it is ideally suited for demanding server and storage systems, entry-level cloud services, and edge applications in areas such as Factory Automation, healthcare, and broadcasting. Additionally, the K3881-C can be seamlessly integrated into 1HE to 4HE rack solutions, enabling easy scalability within existing data center or edge infrastructure. K3882-C: Cost-Optimized Solution with Enterprise Features

The K3882-C is tailored for efficient server applications and offers a robust feature set despite its lower price point. It supports Intel® Xeon® E-2400 and Xeon® 300 processors, utilizes the Intel® C262 chipset, and offers DDR5 memory support with ECC, dual 1GbE LAN, 2x PCIe, 3x M.2, and 4x SATA interfaces. Coupled with OpenBMC-based management, it provides a reliable and cost-effective platform for various applications such as web hosting, entry-level edge gateways, and digital video recorder solutions.
