Advantech, Kunshan, China, 06.02.2026 - With the ESG vision to "Enable an Intelligent and Sustainable Planet", Advantech is proud to announce the release of its AFE-E630, an edge system designed for commercial and industrial energy storage management. Powered by the Rockchip RK3568J processor, the system features rich interfaces and flexible expandability. Integrated with a structured, microservices architecture-based software platform, it enables "Deployment-easy, Worry-free development" to accelerate the implementation of energy storage solutions.

As the global energy transition accelerates, the commercial and industrial energy storage market is experiencing rapid growth. Energy management, a critical component of this sector, ensures a stable power supply and efficient energy utilization through data collection, real-time monitoring, and unified device management. To address these needs, Advantech introduces the AFE-E630 Edge Intelligence System, with featuring built-in software platform – EMS Builder, delivering a hardware-software integrated energy management solution.

Industrial-Grade Reliability with CCC/CE/FCC/UL Certifications

The AFE-E630 leverages the Rockchip RK3568J processor, featuring Quard-core Cortex A55 @ 1.8GHz, and a integrated 1 TOPS NPU. Compact in size (154x108x48.7 mm) and designed for industrial environments, it supports a wide operating temperature range(-40~70°C) and broad power input range (9-30V DC), ensuring stable performance in harsh conditions. In commercial and industrial storage applications, edge systems must interface with a variety of devices. The AFE-E630 offers up to 6 x RS485, 8 x DI, 8 x DO, 3 x CAN. It also supports TPM2.0/4G/Wi-Fi/BT/NVMe/SD for flexible adaptation to various applications.

Easy to Use Software Platform EMS Builder for Streamlined Development

You can adapt Advantech’s software platform, EMS Builder, for energy storage management. Built on a structured microservices architecture, it offers a pre-integrated development environment and comprehensive tools. The platform includes an industrial protocol suite (supporting OPC UA, Modbus, IEC-104, etc.) and a visual low-code configuration interface. Users can quickly build scenario-specific applications, such as data acquisition, device control, and energy optimization, using drag-and-drop components. Additionally, it provides access to standard EMS core management tools and data interfaces, enabling users to customize business logic and implement diverse energy management strategies.

Embedded Design-In Services

Beyond providing high-performance, reliable energy storage systems, Advantech offers comprehensive life-cycle services ranging from pre-testing and industry certifications, to post-deployment support. To meet safety and stability requirements, the AFE-E630 is certified with CE/FCC Class B/CCC/UL. Additionally, the open software platform enables clients to customize development, ensuring rapid project migration and tailored solutions.

Case Study

An energy technology company needed to deploy a 100kW/200kWh photovoltaic energy storage system, with the EMS served as the core for device monitoring, energy management, and fault alerts. The project utilized Advantech’s AFE-E630 solution, which collects real-time data from meters, fans, air conditioners, and other devices to enable interoperability. By leveraging the EMS Builder platform, the system achieved remote batch deployment, OTA updates, and fault diagnosis, significantly reducing maintenance costs.
